umm. this does not belong in this forum. This forum is for questions/answers only. Please go to the Chit Chat section for this type of chat.
Thanks,
MODS! Move it :D
This is a reasonable technical question - so does not belong in Chit Chat.
A different forum would be more appopriate tho, so I have moved it to General Developer. :)
I wouldn't expect many serious answers.
Fair enough :D now i will answer :)Quote:

Where does database programming go? Good? Or totallyEVIL?
 In my opinion it's good, but it seems you have other ideas!
By Dark Byte's definition (which is what the poll is based on), in itself it is neither.
I think I voted too soon. I said good because I was not in the bad camp. Missed that Neither option, though, which would have been more appropriate.
I changed the count to correct it, but your name still shows in the "Good" option.
I voted good i believe i meet all standards in my software. I know idiots who don't(sorry for the profanity) :) And i have made some nice IP based chat clients as well as chat clients for game servers. I always try my best before quiting on a project. I always try different ways to see which way is most efficient for that particular procedure. And Al42 Database programming is good :) not that i do much of it but i like it :)
But it's pointless and makes no sense.Quote:

Since I get paid to write programs I guess the answer to this question is not up to me, but rather up to the people that pay me.
All db programmers are generally cursors. Oh how the tables have turned.Quote:

That said some of the stuff I wrote and made public could have been used by others for bad so the jury is still out on that one.

Thanks Si.
Even if it's years that I use VB6 I am still a beginner. But I really like VB6 I really hope that Microsoft will continue to support standard VB and not only VB.Net...
I thought there were plans for VB9, but I might have been out of it when I saw it.
Please keep this thread on topic folks - it is supposed to be about whether you make security software, or the opposite.
To answer/clarify the last two posts:
Any versions of VB later than 6 are .Net, not Classic VB. (and I wouldn't be surprised if VB9 is in development by now)
Support for VB6 is virtually over (the final service pack was released about a year ago), if you want support move on to VB.Net - the Express edition is free.
..if you have further questions/comments about that (or any other off-topic posts), please post a new thread.
