[2005] Database connections
Help someone,
I have never done any database work in my life butnowrequire it. I am reading the Database sectionin my vb.net book but it just looses me and I cant either make sense of it or get anything working.
I have got to make a program that stores quite a bit of information in a database. This program is also going to be used on multiple computers which most likly will be accessing the database at the same time.
The database will be held on a locl machine to the network and no traffic is neededto go over the internet. I was going to use the MDA database but I cant work out how to connect to one let alone be able to read all the data and write changes back. The database cant be stored in the program because its got to be possible to move the database around and just set the path to it in my program.
Can anyone just get me set of on how to connect to the mda database and I will try and work from there?
Thanks
Re: [2005] Database connections
Why dont you try SQL Server 2005 Express embeded in the VB 2005 Express eddition
. that was so easy and quick to use.
Re: [2005] Database connections
Check out the first example on the Express site. It shows how to use a database with the amazon website.

Re: [2005] Database connections
Ok thank you the reason I want to use Access is bec the computers itisgoing to be deployed on dont have SQL on any so was just easyier to use access plus I and every one there are familiar with access so any problems they can open the database up direct and have a look at it so it was the sensible option.
