mailto: doesn't work
Have used mailto: with multiple adresses in my web site pages to disseminate info to clients for years. A few months ago the mailto: tag stoped working and no longer opened an email form with all of the email addresses following the mailto: tag as it used to. Instead it just opened my inbox. I use thunderbird as my default email source and firefox as my browser. It also doesn't work with outlook express So what happened and how can I fix it?

Re: mailto: doesn't work
mailto depends entirely on what is setup as the default application for reading mail.
Check out this link for info on seeing how Firefox is setup to open mailto links, and how to modify it: http://lists.debian.org/debian-power.../msg00114.html

Re: mailto: doesn't work
"OT: Howto set Mozilla Firefox mailto links" your reference, asks me to open the URL about:config. The url could not be found.

Re: mailto: doesn't work
Okay, if you are using Windows 2000/XP, then go to Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types. Find "(None) URL:MailTo Protocol" and click Advanced. Select "open", or if it doesn't exist, create it, and set your desired "application used to perform action."
If it is already set, try unchecking "Use DDE" if it is checked.

To the Hobo,
Could not find ("NONE)URL:MailTo Protocol" In Folder Options. You advise me to create it but I haven't a clue. How do I create it?

On the File Types tab, click the File Type column heading to sort them and then scroll down to URL.
