I have this file that I compressed using winrar and have password protected. The thing is that I forget the password. Sounds stupid i must say. :mad:
Have you guys tried a password recovery tool for winrar? I searched through google about password recovery tool but none of them help me. :(
It would be good if it's free. :D

Have you tried a program other than WinRar to unzip it? I don't have any others and you can google around for some.
UnzipThemAll is one that I just found quickly but I'm not sure if it works well or if this idea will work for your file. Just a suggestion

What do you mean mar_zim? The first hit on tpm's google hit list is elmsoft which is a very reputable recovery site for VBA, Office, and other programs.

yeah I tried there free trial but it won't work I waited an hour then nothing. :(

Do you have any idea of how long a password you may have used? Of course the longer the longer it will be and hard to recover. Do you have any other copy of it without the password? Maybe in your sent email box if you have emailed it or received it? Any archives on your drive that you could use instead?
Sad to say none. My usual password doesn't exist 10 characters and not less than 6.
If your brute forceing it, then it will take hours, even days if you have all char's selected. If you know it's a standard word try using a custom dictionary. You can make one with a program called raptor. Usually that's a lot faster.

it has a free version and a full one.
I believe I know a friend that can find out the password of Rar files. I'm quite sure - he managed to find out my access password when I forgot it.
If you don't mind, and only if you don't mind, you can try uploading it and I can see what I can do for you ;)
EDIT: I've just asked my friend and since (apparently :confused: ) I've helped him out before, he's willing to do it for free :thumb:... just this once :(
