Question about Excel VB

Hi,
Sorry could not find more specific category for this question.

When I include any active x objects in my spreadsheet and try to protect it from VB code, Excel generates the error message that the "protect" method cannot be executed. When I take Active X out - it works. I can protect the worksheet manually through the menu with Active X though. Can anyone please help me what I should do to allow Active X and protection/uprotection from VBA?
