Ok, this is rather odd, when did VBF start using pop-ups?

Moved to Forum Feedback.
I have never had that happen to me. Perhaps the fact that it popped up when you were on VBF is conincidental.
If I remember right, there was an issue a while back where advertisers were using thier ad in the upper right corner to launch popups.... and if I remember right, that was a no-no and if any were spotted, they were to be reported.
But I could be wrong.

That's just a questionnaire, you don't have to take it if you don't want to. You can just close it.
ok, i'm going to open a fresh instance of opera, and browse with the pop-up blocker OFF, only on vbf. I'll screen record the ad to prove it's not just co-incidental, and that it's only when using VBF.
I just got popped myself.
I occasionally get those annoying little pop ups too, but I just close them and move on.
I'm not really sure where they come from. I rarely read them.
It's just annoying and i was sure VBF was Ad supported, just not Pop-Up ad supported :/
It's happened twice today by the way, none since i submitted this complaint.

Must be an anti-spam strategy.

Thanks Lou. I'm passing this to our ad people so they can address it.
Brad!
:)
I remember that CG had the same issue with the same popup. The popup interfers with posting sometimes. :(
Yeah - it is an advertisor popping those and not us.
If you get it more than once, then I suggest you use the close button (or whatever button is provided) rather than the X button. That should 'cookie' it from that advertisor that you took it and thus prevent that advertisor from showing it to you again. If you see it again, then the advertisor is not only being bad, but doublely bad :)
Brad!
Ok, I'll try that. Already got the popup 5 times today. Seems we are experiencing a real slowness. Wonder if the popup could be causing issues? I notice that the big ad is missing or completely void sometimes.
This may be the reason for the DNS errors and slowness -
Haven't had any DNS errors or slowness for months. Maybe you should convert to the darkside of the net (Fx) ;)
But seriously, have had no problems as of yet
No problems today, not erven one pop-up thankfully.
Maybe it's my punishment for banning people ;) but I've gotten the popup at least a half-dozen times today.Quote:

Darn, I thought it was from another site until I realized it is from VBForums... :D
