How to scan pictures from vb???

I have to create a program that needs to scan pictures and display them on the form. The problem is that i don't even have the slightest clue on how to go about it!! :(
What vb component must i use to scan the pictures??? I already got help on how to store and extract pictures to and from the database. But i just dunno how to scan the pictures in. I don't even know what hardware to use to scan the pictures. Please help me.........

Try using the Wang Image Scan control combined with te Wang Image Edit control.

And ehhh, for scanning I'd use a scanner. ;)
