remove the bios settings password
hey all i was wondering if anyone knows a progam that will give me, allow me to change or remove the bios settings password i am asking this because in order to enable boot to cd and boot to floppy i need to turn on the settings in the bios and the person i got the computer from doesnt know password because he got the computer off Ebay. i know i can remove the cmos battery but i would like to use that as a last resort thanks for the help

My earlier Bios had jumpers ,three of them.To reset the password one had to short the 2nd and third jumpers to clear the password without removing the battery.But i cant see anything like that on my new motherboard.

The entire CMOS goes away if you remove the battery (or the battery jumper) - all passwords, settings, etc. Most modern BIOSs can autoread the hard drive settings, so all you'd have to set manually would be the time and date.

yes i know resetting the battery etc would do that but as i stated i would like to have this as a last resort

Why?
It isn't as hard as it sounds.
Just open the case, flip off the battery, wait 30s and put it back.

Yea there's no other way besides popping out the CMOS battery. Like the above person said it only takes a few minutes.

Well usually there are some pins you can jump as previously mentioned, bit it'll have the same effect to be quite honest.
