I was told that Firefox 2 RC1 has come out, anyone know where it's available for download? All I could find was a third-party website, not sure if it can be trusted. :)

I must have refined my search a bit too much. :)
This is nice. The textareas on pages have a spell checker, quite light too. And the Google search box has an auto suggest.
Can it be installed alongside 1.5?
Yes, I have both installed at present.
Thanks for nothing
I already tried after waiting anctiously for a number of minutes :)
I've heard there are still a number of problems with it.... how's the handling?

Though truthfully, in more than 3 weeks of using it, I've had just one crash (Linux version, which is usually less stable). Main problem is that not all extensions are updated: the essential Next Please! has only been available for a few days now. Web Developer still hasn't been updated, neither have a few others I use quite a lot.
Indeed, it's beta 1, not a release candidate.
It's odd though as I have both installed, but when I open Fx 2 (and then open the about page thru the help menu) it says it's 1.5.0.6Quote:

Yep, that's true. Whenever you start Firefox, it first tries to find a running instance - and it doesn't care about the version of that instance.
Doesn't crash as often as 1.5 used to. Surprisingly stable for an RC. I just hope they don't rename it to a Web 2.0 'standard', like Firefx.
Well just in case u were interested, firefox 2's original code name was project 'Bon echo' or good echo ...Here's the link for beta testers to submit their expereinces .

1.5 crashes? I've never had Fx 1.5 crash even with my poor ASP.NET skills :D
Opera is a quite nice alternative...
Never? Do you use separate windows for each page you visit? :rofl:Quote:

So is IE 7. And Safari. And Konqueror. :)Quote:

Am I missing something here? Like the link to download it?
Look at Static's post (2nd in thread).
Might explain why Fx never crashes for me :DQuote:
