iLife equivalent - WINDOWS

I have never used iLife in my, um, life, but my brother owns a Mac so he's always telling me how sweet the Mac suite of software is.

Anyways, about a year ago, my girlfriend and I built a new house and we have pictures of every stage of it's construction and all of our visits to the property. I'd like to make a nice slideshow with music, but I don't have a MAC so I can't use iLife. What would the equivalent software be for Windows?

I tried one a while back that I think was made by Microsoft, but the playback was pretty choppy and the program was pretty basic.

If i'm correct ilife suite consists of garageband,idvd,iphoto,itunes. Though i havent heard of such a suite of apps for windows but i think nero 7 comes bundled with something similar.

I used Proshow Gold to create VCD slideshow 2/3 years ago.
At that time, it was the best.

We had something like that for our ethanol plant. Everything was done with Windows Movie Maker. Worked out decent.

Why not powerpoint :S

It could work, just getting it onto a disc would be the hard part...
