Netgear 108Mbps
I've setup a wireless network at home using a Netgear WG624 router and a Netgear WG311T wirless card which connects and works OK.
The problem is I never get speeds greater than 54mpbs where as Netgear claim I can get 108mbps. I've checked all my settings and also contacted Netgear but without success. Does any have the same setup as me and get speeds at 108mbps? If so, can you PM me so I can check my settings with yours.
Thanks.

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
What did Netgear say and which OS is this on?

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
Their reply was "Under the advanced wireless options you will need to ensure that super g mode is enabled and try disabling adaptive radio and extended range." which I have done but no speed increase.
I'm running Win XP Pro.

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
Have you also ensured you have the latest driver installedfomr their site. I had a friend with a similar problem and the latest driver solved it. Good luck.

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
coverage length is also an issue, what is the signal strength reported on the system with the card?
anything less than full will be less than 108

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
Interference from other 2.4 GHz devices can also causae retries, slowing the thruput speed. Turn off all cell phones, cordless phones, bluetooth devices ... anything in the area that might be generating a radio signal. Also, change the radio channel if you can, if there are any other wireless networks in range.
Also the thruput can never be higher than the burst speed ... 108 MHz is the burst speed (the speed of a single packet), but if there are spaces between the packets, interference, noise, the computer being too busy to receive the pavcket, etc., etc., the thruput is slower.

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
Netgear WG311 has only 54mbps, while WG311T has support for the 108mbps. Are you sure the card they gave you or the one you bought is the WG311T? Perhaps the driver that is installed on your system is the WG311 and not the T one?

Re: Netgear 108Mbps
gigemboy, I have the WG311T card.
visualAd, i didn't have the latest driver but even after installing it I still can't get speeds above 54mbps.
TokersBall_CDXX, the signal strength reported is 94%. My brother only averages about 75% - 80% with his setup and still gets 108mbps?
Dodgy Netgear
