get connection speed

I'd trying to make a utility that tells the current KbPS at which your connected to the internet. Anyone know how to get the rate??

There has to be some API or something around somewheres

Go find information on different types of media lines and
read about what the connection speed really means and how
it's calculated and you could figure it out programatically.
