MP3 player sort list

I've got a MP3 player which also plays MMC cards but the order it plays the songs, annoyingly is oldest added to new. I checked on a card reader it was playing date created an not date modified. Then with some source code I found changed the date created to a earlier date on a few of the MP3's but when I put the card back in the player the list order didn't change at all :confused:

Does the interface for your MP3 player have some sort of an option where you can specify a random order or another sorting order?

The manuals in german but I've had a fiddled with pretty much everything on but found nothin
