Why does excel keep on locking when you run an appliaction in VB.6?

Hello experts,

Got major problems with VB.6.0 an exel links

(a) - It seems you have to unhide the windows all the time and make excel visible each time you want to right code in excel. Is there a way around this. Whats the best practice code.

(b) - Excel seems to lock out each time the application is run. So it seem you can select a file and run the application online once. And then the same excel file you run the application previously locks out.
Any coding tips here.

Can some provide some best practice code to avoid these problems with an explanation.
