Up here at the top of Scotland, it gets very cold. Temperatures in the winter of -7 are not unheard of...
-
In Northen California where i am it get's down to 10 degrees F
-
At the moment in South Africa its 34 degrees celcius. The coldest I remember is -2
-
Winnipeg, MB Canada
Right now it's nice at about +3C
But... we get to around -40C (same in F) at least once a year
We also get to about +35C in the summer... hows that for a range.
-
Malvern, England. (Midlands)
It's about 8C outside now.
-
blah, BC canada and we get around 5C in winter and 25C in summer, but i used to live in quebec, -40c in the winter and 35c in summer
-
New Jersey, USA...I finally got a winter coat!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D Its about 50 F at HIGH and high 30s for a low :( may not seem cold to you guys in Canada, but I'm freezing my ass off! My grandparents just told me they had snow in North Carolina!!!!!!!!!
-
Here in Redneckville (or Bet-HELL) as we like to call it), NC anything under 10 F is extremely uncommon, and when it snows we sit around waiting for Jesus to fall out of the sky because it has got to be the beginning of the Apocalypse.

Canberra, Australia

-
Merseyside, Northwest England...
F**kin freezin!!!!
Just got back from holiday in Jamaica...got off the plane...geez! This must be the coldest place on the planet!!! Brrr!

You want cold? Try Northern Portugal in January. About
32F with 99% humidity, STONE houses and NO HEAT AT ALL! I
swear that was the coldest I ever got. Including cold
weather manuevers in Alaska where we had to tow the tanks
because the officers were afraid that the oil had frozen
and the engines would crack.
Lord have mercy, it was worse than North Dakota.
-
I take it North Dakota's cold then.
-
Nothing between N. Dakota and Moscow but a bunch of Molson
drinking Canadians and some reindeer. And the reindeer
fart.
People in North Dakota go to Minneapolis for the winter.
-
Nothing between them comparitively or proximity-wise? And is Minneapolis cold too? Sorry, I don't know much about US geography.
-
In Belgium it's about 14°C...and always a raining day...
-
They have about 5 days of -40F every year. 15 if you count
the wind chill factor.
N. Dakota has about 20....without windchill factor. I
remember one year (I think it was '85) when the temperature
couldn't be measured because the mercury froze.
-
Nice and warm here in jail, bout 25C..
What's "weather" anyway?
-
kind of funny ..
Why is this cold topic so hot? notice the buring letter icon.
-
California...
It's 47 degrees here right now. Should hit 70s this afternoon. I think it's cold now...but I guess it's not really.
-
You think N. Dakota is cold?!? I live 2 hrs north of N. Dakota and we go down there on the weekends to warm up! :)
right now it's -21C here! check here: http://weather.ec.gc.ca/forecast/ywg.html
-
Northern New Jersey is so cold right now. Tony Soprano and his buddies have nowhere to dump their enemies because all the lakes, rivers and ponds will be frozen soon.
-
South Dakota is a warm -3C today. Yes, I said warm. This is warm for this time of year. We got a couple of inches of snow last night, and are expecting a little more today. But, in the summers it can get up to 38C. Usually is for about a week, then it stays around 27C for the rest of the summer.
-
Harry...heres a map of the US
-
Cheers Katie
-
I had to look up a map of the UK to find out what you guys are talking about...manchester, etc. meant nothing to me. See what a valuable learning experience this chit-chatting can be!
-
I have no grasp of geography outside of the West Midlands :)
-
Rochester, NY. About 6 hours drive north of NYC... for
all you folk who think the only thing in NY is NYC. :)
It can get frightfully cold up here, but not as bad as
in Michigan or the Dakotas. We usually range from about
-20F (w/ wind chill) to about 95/100F.
Though I was watching this thing on CNN where they
rated the city with the most snowfall in the US, and
they said Rochester. *ahem*bullshit*ahem* Sure, we get
a lot of snow... more than most, but just drive an hour
to Buffalo, and you will usually see a lot more snow
since they get the lake effect snows from 2 great lakes,
and not just 1 (like we do). Buffalo got over 3 feet
of snow in 2 days last week. We got a dusting.

I think the South Dakota winters are just so bad because of the fact that between Rapid City and Sioux Falls, there's nothing but flat land. Granted there's a couple towns, but none are of any great size. Sioux Falls is the largest in the state, and the last census stated that is was just shy of 101,000. That's probably a small town to most of you. I don't live in Sioux Falls though. I live in a town with the population of 2500.
-
so they just walk up to you and beat the crap out of you???
that would suck :(
I have never been beaten up, but I would guess it must not feel too good!
-
Thanks for enlightening me. Stay away from them scallys!
-
Sometimes. You get to know the type to avoid...they usually wear track suits, muddy white trainers an go round in big gangs. I've got a nice lil motorbike so I just ride straight past 'em. :D
-
well, it's gonna be a problem if they get a motorbike too.
-
Nah...they're not that clever. :)
Geez...I've got like 11 "Reply to post \'How cold??\'" messages in my inbox...an still they poor in. :)
-
they pour in.... not poor in........ ;)
-
Um...you're right...but they probibly are poor when they pour in. :)
Phew! What a comeback!! :D
In fact, I think that's probibly it... if you're Liverpudlian, on the doal (no job, poor) and live on a council estate...then you're a scally....and as if by magic, you start acting like one too!
