Crystal Reports 9 Database Expert

I am pretty new to crystal reports.
I am having problems with the database expert.
Every time I try to change the links of the tables and i go out of the database expert the links go back to how they were originally. ( I am modifying reports. )
Is there any setting that i need to set or unset to make this stop happening.
It is very frustrating since i cant get any reports going..

I don't have version 9 but this might help.

Check out the different Options. In 8.5 under the Database Options, there is one called Auto-SmartLinking. I usually turn it off.
