Still, as a hopeless optimist, I am watching the England v Paraguay match at the Sports Bar in Manchester, which has a truly huge screen!
Omg lol!
Sports Bar! I've been there once a long time ago, and its just full of scallies! (Chavs for you non english!)
Hey, guys, relax. I was only joking. I think they'll make it to the quarter-finals at least, going by the predictable outcome of the previous few world cups. Just like Brazil is supposed to win everytime, and just like Germany is never going to have an exciting or entertaining match for as long as football is in existence.
the one where we beat them 5-1 was fairly entertaining lol
The one in Deansgate? Been there once before a couple of years ago, and it wasn't too bad. Maybe that just makes me a scallie!

Was pretty good crowd as I remember, not many <18's.
Last time I was there was for the England v France game in 2004. Yes - that one. It still hurts, lol.
Might just be a saturday night when they all come out then lol :)
You from manchester?

Or a good violent action movie ;)
Nope, I'm a suvvenor. Coming up with a mate who went to uni there.
Staying in the Walkabout for the night.
England will reach the semi's, as far as I am concerned. They've got the best Midfield in the world.
Or a bone breaking horror!Quote:

A few weeks ago I bought a projector for the same reasons. And when you have a big white wall, it does great :)Quote:

They are not going to win this time, they will never win in Europe!Quote:

Hey, thats not true, we had very entertaining matches during the last Confederations Cup! You must confuse us with Italy.Quote:

It's called "soccer".

Give it a go!
England it seems will face either Germany or Poland in the first knockout stage. Not easy and considering they have Argentina at some point I can't see them doing too well.
Oh and a good midfield doesn't make a good team. Just like one striker (mug-face) doesn't make a team. I find it pathetic how all your hopes and dreams have been pinned on Rooney. Gerrard, Beckham and Lampard are all far better, and more influential, players.
Well you need a slice of luck to win tournaments i.e a good draw, but in the end you still have to be capable of beating the best to be champions Germany and Poland are beatable and we beat the argies in a well contested friendly a few month ago so nothing to be scared of. Are we all pathetically pinning our hopes on one player, or is it just that you have been reading too many tabloid junk?Quote:

Only if you defeat us in regular or overtime. You will never win a penalty shoot out against us :wave:Quote:
