Clear your cookies.
I dont actually want to log out i was just going to try and help someone with logging in via a vb program to this forum but found i couldnt :). Just thought i'd report it in case it was actually busted.
You may have an old cookie and it's not being cleared by the logout.
Thanks, ill kill all the vbf ones
Wait, are you using firefox? It has logging out issues with some vbulletin forums.
Yeah im using firefox, always crashes due to the adverts on codeguru and VBF aswell
I've never had any issues using IE. :D
I just tried now to logout (under IE) and while it goes through the motions, nothing really happens.
I'm running IE and the logout works just fine for me. When you log out you get the login fields at the top right of the page so you can log back in. ;)
I click the Log Out menu item, it asks me if I'm sure, I say OK and then I exit. When go back to vbforums.com I'm still logged in.
Presumably you are automatically logged back in by cookies.
I tested it as I always run with "Remember me" and it works normal. I am presented with the login boxes in the current instance of IE and if I close it and reopen a new instance I am still shown as logged out.
Maybe try clearing your cookies after having all instances of IE closed and clear them via the control panel Internet Options.
This happens to me constantly but what I have discovered is that I'm still listed as being logged in, but I am, actually, logged out.Quote:

Again, I attributed this to the funky way this company has IE configured, so it is interesting to me to hear that it happens to others.
Sounds like either you have to wait for the session to time out or for a temporary cookie to go away. (I never log out, so I don't know/don't care. :))Quote:

Now it works normally again. I logged out again and when I immediately went back (without deleting the cookie) I was no longer logged in. Very strange.
You don't have to log-out to do thatQuote:
