If you mean can you, then no, and as for doing it for everyone the main page is already pretty long and displaying subforums would make it even longer.
I know I can't. I was requesting the feature, if you like.
As for the length of the main page, if we made more use of subforums then it would be much shorter anyway. Such as Codebank and UtilityBank (which have hardly any posts in some of the forums), Projects (Doomsharp as a subforum), etc. It's not as if you need to go to those forums every day.
What subforums were you thinking we should list in that manner? There really aren't many forums more than one level down on the site.
As a side note -- people can make the main page shorter by condensing sections they don't look at. I've compressed the jobs and other sections on mine.
Brad!
well so far we have (top down) Game Demos, Contest Entries, and World Events.
I was thinking we could add to that:
Codebank (parent forum)
- VB 6 (subforum)
- VB.NET
- ASP/ASP.NET
- C#
- C++
- Java/J#
- Game Programming
- Other
UtilityBank (submissions forum, parent)
- Utilities
- IDE Addins
- Components
- Tutorials
- Other
Project Communication
- DoomSharp
That would shrink the main page down considerably and make the structure a bit more logical. Listing the subforums as links would keep them accessible from the front page. What do you think?
I like the idea.. but for the CodeBank/UtilityBank, wouldn't they need to be sub-forums themselves?
(oh, and the UtilityBank submissions forum shouldn't be a parent - it should be at the same level as the others).
By "parent forum" I meant at the level the Codebank/Utilitybank forums are at now. And then with each specific forum as a subforum of that.
As for UtilityBank, I thought maybe categorised submissions could go into the locked subforums, and new submissions could just be posted into the parent forum?
I never thought of doing that!Quote:

I prefer it as it is - partly as some people have been unsure about which one their submission would go into.Quote:
