Excel: pulling index data out of data set
I have a(1) column of data in excel and I would like to pull every 60th (example: 60,120,180) data points out of the column. How do I do this? VBA may be the way but I have never done any.
The index function in excel does not work well:
example:
Index(A1:An,C1) where C1 = the Interval (60th), it returns a result that is 3 or 4 indexes down from the correct value.
Thanks

When you "pull" the values what are you doing with them?
Re: Excel: pulling index data out of data set
I find the index function to work perfectly. Assuming your data is in column A, put a list of numbers 1,2,3,4... in column C and then in column D put the formula:
=INDEX(A:A, C1*60)
and fill it down. This will fill in the value of cells A60, A120, A180...
To start with the first one, put =INDEX(A:A,((C1-1)*60)+1) to get A1, A61, A121...
