report problems

i have generated a report, and on my form included a button, this button opens a preview of the report, but, i want it to preview the report for ONLY the record selected, even when i i have the form open for (for example) "ID13" but when i press the button on the form, it chooses the first ID number (e.g. "ID1") how can i set it up so that whichever record is open on the form, it opens that report for that record... any clues?

simply an inbuilt access report, nothing spectacular, just microsofts own...

I dont know if im getting you right. if you are using CR 9 then you can use this .DiscardSavedData.

no im using the reports that are part of the ms access. no 3rd party applications, just for reports using ms access 2003. os this any help?
