Changing .xls opening behavior through VB
Good Day,
I am creating an application that will set some default settings for a blank load on a computer. For example, we have an application that ppl use on a daily basis that requires a lot of things to happen to a computer before you run this application. (I did not write this program!!!;) What my program does is setup a user account, setup an admin account, force classic start menu, force classic control panel, and the last thing I need to do is this:
In folder options
My Computer-Tools-Folder Options-File Types Tab--.xls-Advanced-Open-Uncheck Browse in Same Window----Check Confirm Open After Download.
Now My question is this. Does anybody know how to set this up in code or perhaps where this info can be found in the registry then I can do the code myself.
thanks,
Pol

Anybody have anything on this possibly??

The information is probably stored in the registry. To find out where you may need to use a registry monitor utility (freeware) that will track your changes when you uncheck it. Then when you find the location you can automate this with some code to write the chage to the registry. ;)
