how can I find out how to start with the coding ? like where to place my code? and database?

You find a webhost to host your site. You would have to figure out what you are needing first. A majority of cheap hosts usually allow MySQL as the database, as well as let you run PHP. If you are talking ASP or ASP.NET, then you would need to find a Windows host, and they generally cost more. A google search should pull up several places.

You need to get webhosting, and then you need to login to the account where the URL is registered, like godaddy, network solutions, etc... and link the domain name, to where the hosting is (its what is called a name server.. usually it looks like ns1.something.com, ns2.something.com)

make sure the hosting you get supports the language you plan to write the website in, like asp, or asp.net. If you are using either of those technologies, you will need to get hosting on a Windows Server, and not a Linux server.

The host will most likely give you FTP access, so you will use an FTP client to upload your code and pages to the live site. If you are running windows XP Professional as your development machine, then you can do all the development using IIS on your local machine, and then upload it to the live site when it is ready to go.

I would recommend Ultimahosts if you plan to develop with ASP.NET and you are new. I paid $50 for the year and it includes a SQL 2005 database and MYSQL. They are also extremely helpful and will even set up your choic of the Asp.net SDK packages that are available to get you started. Server seems to be very reliable and not slow. Have been very satisfied and the price is right.
