[RESOLVED] VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
I have recently changed to Windows Server 2003. Since then I'm facing this problem in both Opera and Firefox. (see screenshots)
If I press F5, the page renders correctly.
Anyone else faced similar problem ? (I haven't tested it in IE)

Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Use IE :thumb: :D
What versions are you running?
Anyone else have this issue too?
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Ieeeeeeeeeeeeeee ! !@#$%^&
:D
Opera 9 Preview 2 Build 8212
Firefox 1.5.0.1
This problem occures randomly. But only in the pages which has ad in the top-right table.
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
I couldnt get it to happen when the Sun ad was displayed. Just keep an eye on it and remember if its always the same ad or your performing a post, etc.
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Good guess. :)
This problem happned again when the Sun ad is being displayed.
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
But I cant get it to happen using 1.5.0.1 with the Sun ad showing. Could it be some other issue causing the error?

Shouldn't it be "can't" ?
I have configured both Opera and Firefox to display 'cached images only'. In Opera it is built-in, in Firefox I'm using imgLikeOpera extension. Can this cause the problem ?
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Yes, it should be cant. I updated my type o :D
Probably since I have no issues displaying the page with FF, same version, same Ad. The extension may be flakey, just like FF. :D

I don't mind much by those words. ;)
But what about Opera ? I'm using this feature for ~2 years without any problem.
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
I dont have Opera and really am tring not to install more then I need on my system as its getting bogged down lately.
But arent you currently using the Preview 2 version?
Any other members viewing with Opera that can attest to the Sun ad issue?
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Yes. I'm using preview 2 for ~2 months. (but this feature is with Opera for a long time. From v7 if I recall correctly)
As I don't expect Opera/imgLikeOpera team will solve this problem anytime soon (if it is their error), I just hope the advertiser will notice it and solve it if there is any error in their side.
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Well thats what we are here for to help get this resolved. I know Brad or Joe will see this thread and if warrented, send an email to the appropriate person in charge of advertising. At least we have narrowed down the possibilities? Can you try it without the exteension?
Re: VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
I have disabled all Fx extensions and Opera hacks. Now it is working properly.
Thanks ! :thumb:
Re: [RESOLVED] VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
NP, buyt the FF extension is made by Opera? So it would be assumed that Opera needs notification or Sun?
Re: [RESOLVED] VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
No. The problem was in my side. :o
There is nothing wrong in Opera/Fx/Sun. My firewall was blocking the ad server.
Re: [RESOLVED] VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
Ok, at least its solved and at least IE did display the page correctly over the "other" two. :D
Re: [RESOLVED] VBF Renders incorrectly in Opera and Firefox
I'm not sure, but it may cause problem in IE too.
In Windows Server 2003, default security level of IE is "High". I changed it to Low to get rid of notifications.
I don't care much of IE security, 'cause I use IE only if some app has embedded webbrowser control. My firewall controls internet connectivity of that app.
But for regular IE users in Win2K3, it may cause problem.
