This happened to me as well. I don't know who your email provider is, but in my case it's AOL and they are pretty picky about the email that gets sent though them and they weren't delivering my notifications because of a technical problem with the way vBulletin generates the notifications. To resolve the problem here is what I did:
- Create a gmail account
- Set it up to forward to my normal AOL email account
- Changed my VBF profile to use the new gmail account
How do I get a gmail account?
It looks like you now need a mobile phone with text messaging capability - very strange.Quote:

BTW, I am still having sporadic issues with receiving email notifications. It seems to be around 10% of the time I do not get any email. The other 90% gets through to my Yahoo email account.
I doubt if Yahoo Spam Blocker blocks 10% of the messages from an email source... I guess it's possible.
I had a problem with my Hotmail account for a while, so I switched my forum email address to my work email, and haven't had a problem since.
Dave if you want a Gmail account PM me your email and I'll send you an invite.
How do you do that?Quote:

When I first created this thread, I set my Yahoo Mail setting to never delete the Bulk emails, but to save them. I have over 500. I checked today's and yesterday's emails in my Bulk folder, and there were zero emails from VBF.
It was assumed that my mail server (Yahoo Mail) was spam-blocking VBF. I was receiving most, but not all notifications. I think I have successfully proven that assumption to be false.
Again I posit; VBF is not sending my all my notifications. Am I the only one?
If I remember correctly, Martins similar problem was almost identical, but the mails had actually been sent by teh VBF servers. It seemed that the mail provider was treating it as "definite spam" and deleting it completely before it reached him, thus not even allowing him to see it in his "spam" folder.
Have you tried another email provider, as Martin suggested?
I was hoping I did not have to go to that extreme a measure. Penagate got me a g-mail account but I dunno if it has a notification mechanism, like a mail-spy.
You don't need to have it notify you. Just have it forward the mail to your current email account.Quote:

I checked my bulk mail thouroughly and it is not being marked as spam or anything. I have approx. 500 spams per week and none of them are deleted; they stay in my yahoo Bulk mail folder for a week before they get deleted.
I can't imagine Yahoo decided that VBF emails are blocked or something. Isn't it possible the VBF server is, in fact, not sending these emails?
I don't think this is the case here. If one yahoo user receives notifications from VBF, then the problem isn't in Yahoo. since we all receive notifications, the problem isn't in VBF server.Quote:
