[RESOLVED]In need of help..

I'm going to try to explain this clearly..

I'm making a program that takes a number that you type in and turns it into what "level" you are. Lets say 152 experience is level 5, I need to know a code that will make the program understand anything between 150 and 155 experience is level 5. Thanks!

First of all, thanks for the info.

I don't know if this is what I was looking for or not, maybe i'm doing it wrong. I want the user to be able to type in their experience and then when the program sees what the number it is, it figures out the level of the user. So its setup where theres a text1 and a label1. When the number is entered into text1, the level is entered into label1. No button is pressed. Thanks again, and hope this explains in more detail.

I think what you need is a "Select Case" statement.

Check out your help file for select case and see what you find or look in the index of your book. You should be able to find a lot of examples.

Basically it would be something like:

Select Case Level
                      Case 150 to 155
                             message "You are level 5"
                      Case 156 to 160
                             message "You are level 6"
                      Case  etc. 
             End Select

You can have as many Case statements as you need.

I'm not sure just what you are doing, but I think the Select Case statemet is what you need.

If your still online, please read my above post. I understand the Case, but not sure how to use that..I will try to read about it. If you know anything about the detail I explained it in above, please let me know! Thanks for the help!

in that case, you need to specify the range of levels for example 1-50, 51-100 and so on and so forth

then you can use this logic

if val(Text1.text) >= 1 and Val(text1.text)<= 50 then
    level = 1
elseif 'another condition here
    level = 2
elseif 'another condition
'and so on and so forth
End if

I think thats exactly what I needed. I'm trying to use everyones advice to become a better programmer. Thanks again everyone for the help!
