I've used SharpReader... not too shabby if you aren't against using something written in .NET (using C#, hence the name).

i used 2 feedreaders 2-3 years back, and they seemed to be good but i dont know if they are still good.
1- SauceReader (recommended)
2- SharpReader (was also good)
hope they are still good for something.

Thanks ! I used SharpReader, but didn't like it very much. I'm low on memory. It takes too much memory. :(
BTW, SauceReader is now closed. I'll give the last version a try. :thumb:
I have found some commercial feed readers that integrate with Outlook. Any free tool with similar functionality ?
take a look at Blog Express
and a list of RSS readers available for Win users.

Wow !!!!!!
That's LOTS of tools !! :D
Thank you very much. :thumb:
I have downloaded BlogExpress, it is really nice. I'll try other tools tomorrow.
not at all!!
and yes, blog express seems impressive. i will try it soon.

Use FireFox, and add the feed to your "Live Bookmarks"... then all you do is view the bookmark to see all of the links to the recent posts....
Thanks. :thumb: Didn't know about live feeds.
I tried Live Feeds.... didn't like them.... I wanted something that will tell me when a particular feed has changed. It also didn't provide any historical storage of the feeds (OK, the feed is there today, but I might not want to read it immediately.) To each their own, and it works for some, just not me.

That's true. But I think it is OK for feeds of CNN/BBC like sites.
The problem I faced that, SharpReader/Blogexpress/SauceReader can't import OPML created by FeedReader. They are saying, it has syntax error.
Only FeedDemon is able to import the OPML correctly. But it is not free and I didn't like its UI. No tree view in the release version (1.5), the beta 2.x versions has only single level treeview.
The plus point is, it is the only stand-alone rss reader that can use the Mozilla engine.
Why not build your own????

Shows a simple way of doing it with Visual Web Developer Express, but you can also easily make it a winforms application as well...
That's a good idea. Infact the "VB.NET absolute beginner's video series" I have downloaded from MS, teaches that.
But, I don't have knowledge in .NET to build a 'good' one. I guess I'll stick with the free ones for now. :D
