FF issue..

iv quoted the following line from a thread... is this true?.. how?..

No, i honestly don't see how installing FireFox onto a new system would be "ruining" it. They simply do not like firefox.

However, it is worth noting that if you don't want registry changes made you can simply run "Portable Firefox" from your Hard Drive instead.

That's just personal preference as Firefox is only a 3rd party app. I actually prefer Firefox as it allows more customisation, safer browsing and more functionality, but like mentioned before this is personal preference. Just do a bit of research into the browser before deciding whether to use it or not :thumb:

Its probably already ruined with IE included with Windows anyway.

I don't like people who post opinionated statements like that without including any reasoning. So my advice is to ignore it ;)

Edit: I use Firefox mostly but Opera too to test my websites. They are all written to W3C standards. IE fails to display most of them.

And them some... our test site is down right now or we'd show you what I mean... take the ACID 2 test, IEs results are... dissapointing and leave a LOT to be desired ;)

Acid2 is an HTML/CSS test designed to stretch the standards support of a browser. It takes a very compliant browser to display the page correctly.

The target rendering looks like this.

Here are test screenshots I took from the three main Windows browsers.

Firefox 1.6a1

OK it's a tiny bit better than Firefox 1.5, but I can't be stuffed loading up 1.5.

Opera 8.5:

Opera 9 (Preview) has also improved over Opera 8.5. So both these browsers are making progress.

IE 6:

Safari and Konqueror (both KHTML) pass the test. Firefox 2.0 will also. IE 7 will be, well, pretty much the same.

You make up your own minds.
