Hey Guys,
I was about to start on a project to bar code some wafers my business makes, I was wondering if anyone had any direction on printing codes, and then reading them back,
I want to integrate this all into softward, so I really do not want to just buy a system, I realize I will need some form of Bar scanner, And then from there I want to code the rest.
Please help??
Thanks Nick

Well, I've got part of a Code 39 barcode font here: http://www.parksie.uklinux.net/Code39.ttf
You'd need a scanner, and they usually plug into the keyboard - so when you scan it's the same as typing in the number :)

The easiest way to deal with this is to contact a manufacturer of Bar Code Scanners. They want to sell to you and will supply all sorts of data.
If you cannot find a manufacturer site, go to some local store that uses Bar Codes and ask to look at the scanner. It will proably have a manufacturer name on it.
The VB code is somewhat like processing Keyboard input. The smart way to go is to get data from one or more manufacturers. They will provide enough information to allow you to start programming.
