Can I make the color of one item in a list box difrent
then the color of the rest of the item?

I think you need the api for that (sendmessage)?
look at http://www.mvps.org/vbnet/ , and you'll probably find something you like, otherwise you can always use a Listview (can be found in the Microsoft Windows Common Controls)
