Starting with the "C" language.

I intend to learn a language where I can do some game programming. I was not sure whether to post it here or the Game and Programming forums (although they had a guide for such a question already).

However, I didn't get my answers from searching this forum for a couple days.

I would like to know which program is good to start learning and will be great in the future. (And what different type of C languages there are since there seems to be C, C++, C#, and C Omega or something, and probably more).

It'd be nice if you can give a description to your answer.
