Windows Network keeps going down
I've been working with and setting up windows network's for several years and I just recently encountered a rather unusual problem.
A network which was working fine (seen with my own eyes) just yesterday is now causing many problems. The network just cannot see eaach other so here is the steps I went through:
- reset all network settings on each comp
- shutdown comps
- restarted router
- boot comps
- set up network again on each comp
- restart comps
Now the network worked, for about 2minutes... Then it bugged out again. So I repeated the above steps and again after about 2minutes the network bugs out...
Any advice?
Re: Windows Network keeps going down
what are you using to set up the network? cat 5e cables or is it wireless?
Re: Windows Network keeps going down
One comp on the network is wireless but the rest are wired.
Re: Windows Network keeps going down
Okay I cannot even get it to work now even repeating the steps above.
All I get is whenever I try to access the workgroup is:
"HOME is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this network resource. Contact the administator of the server to find out if you have access permissions.
The network path was not found."
Re: Windows Network keeps going down
did you test the cables maybe one of them is faulty and what kind of router?
Re: Windows Network keeps going down
Cables are fine.
Router is a DLink.
I think this may be virus related (see new thread by me)... Not to sure tho, I didn't do anything but now the network seemed to have fixed itself.
