when VB generates random or calculated numbers over 999 it never puts a comma to seperate the units.
i.e i want it to print 54,000 not 54000!
any ideas?

Numbers are not formatted - you need to use strings and perhaps Format() function:
strNumber = Format(lngNumber, "###,###,##0")
