JMenu Bar question

I have created a JMenu using Java Swing for each of the menu items i gave them there own Action Listener also I overrided the actionperformed method in the Action Listener class. Now the problem is when I click on one of the menu items I want it to go to a method that changes a buttons color but when I insert the code i get an error can someone tell me how i would overcome this problem I would greatly appreciate it were working on a group project and its due in a day and thats the only problem we have thanks

Why does everybody here say I have an error?
Would it kill you to be more specific and tell us what the detailed message of the error is!
