In Firefox 1.5, some extension has messed up my settings. I am no longer able to "page down" by pressing the space bar. Does anyone know where this setting lies.

Not sure, it works for me. What extensions do you have installed?
I figured this out. You need to disable an option in the general tab which lets you do selection by keyboard. If you have that option on then, the space bar scrolling stops.
I actually logged a bug on bugzilla for this issue and then they whammed be back with the answer. :)
