ATI 9800 All in wonder - no tv audio
Seems that this may have been a waste of money (sigh)
Right, I downloaded the lastest drivers from ATI (11 Nov) and the system stabilised enough that it seems to run ok for most things.
Then I tried to view the tv/svideo using the 9.08 multimedia tv application (ati).
TV seemed fine - static (the only antenna I have is a crappy one so that is expected). The svideo picture is ok, a bit low res (seems to be smaller than 640x480 even though I am trying to output hd from the 9600 pro machine). However, since the new drivers were installed, the audio for the svideo is a buzzing noise. This happens even when all the plugs are pulled from the back.
Has anyone come across this?
Should I just email ati again and see if a fix is in the pipeline or whether it is just that the comp the 9800 is in is crap. ?
Specs:
windows xp pro sp2
amd 2600 barton core
256mb ram (I know small - can't afford to upgrade yet)
9800 all-in-wonder (sapphire)
catalyst v5.11

ATI has a good support system. You can call them and if its a busy time of day they usually will ask if they can call you back. This will save you any toll charges. :D
They have a RAM ploicy that is good for 5 years after date of purchase. They have always been more then helpful when I had used their support. Sounds like there may be both a driver and hardware issue.

Uh ok - that is ok from UK too?
I was going to email them, I found an address somewhere there last time. Then ATI released new drivers that stabilised the system.
I will try n dig that email address up again.
Thanks for the input.

They may have a tool free number. Ask for it in the email if you cant find it. :D
