It's a hoax. None of it is real. You can go about your business. Move along.
the power of faith is a very strong thing it can complete people, and can give people all the ability to get throught day to day life but as for the article i'm not sure being a catholic i should probally say yes it is a miricle but i cannot be sure if it is or not
Faith is an illusion. Miracles are well-timed coincidences. If a statue could really cry blood, I'd probably wet myself.
Time will tell. If it cannot be explained, then there could be something to it.
There usually is an explanation, though.
Problem: Or solution, depending on your point of view: timeshifter...
faith may be an illusuion but it brings some people happiness and makes them feel complete
Whatever tickles your pickle.
I am waiting for a miricle. Instead I just get teased and then knocked down. :(
It doesnt matter what you believe in, as long as it helps you focus. Being focused and having determination are the root of all success.Quote:

Miracles...
I don't believe the statues actually cry blood or whatever, but I know that faith can really motivate people and bring out the best in them. (And the worst as well :( )
How can faith be an illusion? You have faith in the sun rising every morning; that is, in the sense that I'm sure you cannot prove that the Earth orbits the Sun, so you have faith in those people who can, and you believe it.Quote:

Faith, as I understand it, is accepting any belief without evidence whether religious or otherwise.
Making a sweeping statement that faith is only religious in nature, and that it must therefore be an illusion is, in my opinion, a rather silly thing to say.
An illusion is believing in something that it may appear to be true. Religions are not a figment of the imagination but are just like any other club or organization. Religions exist due to a belief, not necessarily because of hard evidence or proof. They tell you what to think and do and you follow blindly based solely upon Faith. Faith is a general term that can be applied to any topic, not limited to just religion.
Oh and dont forget about how they are always wanting your time and money. Then when you need them where are they??? They will tell you to pray as a means of passing the buck and not gving you the help you need.
I think you should reread my last post; you are essentially repeating what I've already said . . .Quote:

As far as I know there has been no independent test of the metaphysical aspect that religions purport. An illusion has, therefore, never been observed.
As I posted I do agree with some of your post but I disagree on the illusion point as it can be intreperted different ways. Religions make you believe in something that you have no proof of or way of verifying. They paint an illusion in front of you and make you believe that you are seeing it.
But an illusion is just a trick, like the best magic tricks. They are simply diverting your attention from what is really happening.
Myself I am a newly converted pastafarian and devout follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster :thumb: :D
I don't see many people forcibly being made to subscribe to religion; as far as I'm aware most people belonging to a religion are as sentient and in control of their rationality as you or I; I'm sure you can come up with an example where this isn't the case, however.Quote:
