[RESOLVED] Negative Rep question
hi all,
just read that when someone gives a negative rep, then the half  of his/her rep is subtracted from the poor chap's rep.
well, i was one of the poor chap and somebody deduced 3 points from mine
and eligibilty criteria is 20+ posts and 10+ rep. or am i wrong? does that 5 default rep points are enough to make a person eligible to award rep points?
if 20+ and 10+ are the actual crietria then 10/2 is 5, so how can someone give less than 5 negative rep points?
thnx
Re: Negative Rep question
Half of the member's rep POWER is deducted. And the minimum is 20 posts and 5 reps.
So if I were to give you a negative rep now, I would deduct 1 point. If I gave you a postive rep, it would add 2 points.

Re: Negative Rep question
one more query. i have 1 Rep power, so if i try to give a negative rep, so will it deduct .5 from the poster?
or say if someone has 3 rep power, so it can deduct 1.5 from the bad poster?
Re: Negative Rep question
It generally rounds down, except for a power of 1 where negative power is also 1. So If you have a power of 1 you deduct 1, if you have a power of 3 you deduct 1 also.
