Can't enter computer's setup menu
I have a Sony Vaio laptop computer. I recently got a bootable Linux CD. However, I can't boot the computer with Linux. Usually in most computers, pressing [Del] key during startup opens set up menu where one can specify the booting sequence order. However, whenever I switch on my computer only "Sony" appears on the screen and pressing [Del] key doesn't open set up menu. Simply Windows XP starts always.
Is there any way to enter in computer's setup?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Can't enter computer's setup menu
Hmmm
Usually sony equipment is quite good at being versatile in its OS usage and change, so I cant see a forced OS useage on thsi one, as Sony arent tied to anybody on this front.
Have you tried F2 to enter setup, or you could try F8 for Windows startup options, other than that consult your sony vendor on it (not the helpline as thisll charge youa fortune!!!) or you could consult the website on the latop specifics and see wht this says.
Hope this helps

Re: Can't enter computer's setup menu
Try F10 (I think) during the sony Logo screen to get into the BIOS.

You didn't state the model number, but this says to use F2.

Thanks to all.
F2 key worked
Basically the key varies between manufacturers. For Sony its either F2 or F3.
