Is it possible to create a bootable floppy under Win2000 without Admin privelidges?
Logically it should be possible because boot floppy is same anywhere so it doesnt really matter if your machine doesnt permit it creating, you can get it from outside! So there is no point in restricting. Not really sure though
What are you trying to do? Is your drive NTFS format? I think you can format a disk with the SYSTEM properties checked, which should make it bootable, but I'm not sure.
On the Windows 2000 CD there is a program called MakeBoot.exe (or makebt32.exe) which can be used to create bootable diskettes.
Pradeep :)
It makes 4 of them, that are used when installing W2K when it doesn't have a bootable CD.
if you have internet acess from ur restricted account ten you can download boot disk images from www.bootdisk.com
Nope, that checkbox is only available under XP. 2000 doesnt have it, only quick format and enable compression. ;)Quote:

That will format the diskette and copy over the system files or such.
Thanks. I've been spending too much time with XP. Going to set up a Mac with a WIFI network on Sunday. I've been reading up on it tonight. Seems pretty similar to Windows, though.
