ms word: symbols and equation editing
I'm wondering, is there a way to have a table of mostly used symbols? It's kinda annoying to do Insert-> symbol, and then find the right symbol each time
also I've never entered equations in word. What sort of basic tools are there to assist in entering equations
Re: ms word: symbols and equation editing
You can assign a shortcut to each one. They actually already have one assigned, but you can assign easy shortcuts to the ones you use most. This is done in the same area where you select the symbol, at the bottom of the dialog box. Just press the "shortcut" button and a new dialog will appear to allow you to change the shortcut.

Equation Editor Help Topics
You have to go to add remove programs, and then install from the CD or Network share, unless it is installed already. Look for the Equation Toolbar
