In looking at some code that someone else developed previously in ASP.Net, I see many tags like the following: <o:p>. I have no idea what this tag is and my research didn't turn up anything. Does anyone know what this is?

That is what you get when you create an HTML page from MS-Word. Those are tags used and understood by MS-Office. You can safely remove that heinous trash.
