[RESOLVED] Do you have xperience with numbering checks?

I need to know how to take auto generated numbers from a SQL server and then use some kind of formula(?) to number checks. Any ideas? I am just starting to learn Crystal, but the books I have do not seem to be very good. ANy suggestions on tuts or sites would help too.
