I was doing some research into MCAD, MCSD, MCDBA, MCSE, MCDST, etc. and I noticed it says that if you are certified in any of those above, you are also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. You become an MCP after you have passed your first test.
