Every computer is bascially a Turing Machine, they all have the same mathematical "power" with varying memory and speeds.
Is there anybody developing a completely different computer chip/architecture? That is so different that it is more powerful than a Turing machine?

for others like me that got no idea what a Turing Machine is, have a look here . I had a quick look, and still got no idea
Why care? We are not even close to what is possible to achieve with today's technologies.
You should care if you're going for something in the field of computer science. (We're not in computer science, more like computer applications). Our computers are more complex than that, but Turing machines are a good way of illustrating basic computer science concepts to us silly students.

Its mainly a mathematical (set based) model used by all CPU's to compute and to work with memory.Quote:
