[XML] Some sort of weather script?
Hello all, i'm hoping someone can help me with something.
I'm trying to get information from an xml feed to a text file and make it so it updates every 30 mins or so.
Here is the xml feed: http://www.wunderground.com/auto/rss...ions/94821.xml
Basically just want the current temperature for my home town to save into a text file and keep updating.
Is this possible? If so how? Keeping in mind i'm all new to this.
Thanks for your time,
Scott
Re: [XML] Some sort of weather script?
If you just need that Information automatically updated go download an RSS Reader. Theres millions of them for free out there, like http://www.rssreader.com/download.htm
If you want to code it yourself, sure its possible. What language do you code in?
Re: [XML] Some sort of weather script?
I don't know any language...
Will this program save it to a text file and do it automatically?
I really need it to be in a text file and it can only be the current temperature.
Re: [XML] Some sort of weather script?
I am sorry! I dont think there is an Application for your specific needs!
You need to either search for an Application that does similar things
Google
or code it yourself. Maybe someone will code it for you here if you throw in some money.
Sorry,
Stephan
Re: [XML] Some sort of weather script?
I've been searching google but so far haven't gotten far.
I can't afford to pay someone to do it as I'm needing it for work, which is a non-profit organisation. So as you can see really no money to spend on it.
Anyway thanks for your help, i'll probably continue to google it.
