Without any actual stats to go off of, I would have to say the Pentium 4. I had a Celeron, near 2.0 and it was awful.
Let's assume they have the same memory, etc...? Will PIV 1.1 be faster than Celeron 2.0?
A Celeron has 1/2 the on die cache that a Pentium has so its like comparing a 4 cyclinder car to another with a V8 Zoom zoom! :D
I'm not so much on technical terms and so with cars... :( So which is faster? I am guessing it's the PIV 1.1?Quote:

Popeye wins with PIV!
It will also always depend on the app running though. I can easily woop up an app that will be much slower on P4 then a celeron.

What will the application do to cause the PIV to be slower?Quote:

I usually use this scenerio to explain it.
If you have two cars, a car with a 4 cylinder engine and a 8 cylinder engine, and they are on the freeway they can both go 60 miles per hour. But if they encounter a large hill the one with the 4 cyliner engine will have trouble going over it because of the smaller engine and will go slow. The 8 cylinder engine car will go over the hill very easily and fast with no slow downs.
So do you want to drive a small Honda civic (4 cylinder engine) or do you want to drive my Cobra (8 cylinder engine)? :D
