client / server
this is hard to explain but ill try my best.
using a game anti-cheat for example... how would the server decline the client from connecting if he doesnt have the anticheat installed? what stops the client from connecting?
is this possible? if so, short explanation in a nutshell? ;)
im not expecting any replies because of the questions nature but if it's possible, how would such be accomplished in vb?

Re: client / server
Take a look here.
If you have a thread in one section that you feel would be better served in another, you can send a PM to the section mod of the section that it is currently in and asked that it be moved to a difference spot. There is no reason to recreate the thread, and double posting is something we would prefer not happen.
Thanks.

Re: client / server
Have the anti-cheat program listening on a specific port. Then, as soon as the game connects, have the server send a packet to that port. If the anti-cheat program doesn't answer, then decline the connection.
Sorry that I don't have any examples of this.

Re: client / server
i posted a reply on http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=359488
this thread was posted in the network section from classic vb. which makes 2 same topics in one section.
so this thread can be deleted by a mod...
