Yes, I do and its ok pay for entry level with no experience. Just competitive to get in the field.
I have been doing it professionally for many years. ;)
This forum is for VB.NET-related technical questions. Note the description of the General Developer Forum:Quote:
Discuss issues important to developers, ask for career advice...
Oh, sorry JMC. Dang, RobDogg, your so lucky.
But I had to pay my dues like everyone else. I went to school and college, but for a BS of Electrical Engineering degree. After that I changed and went pro with programming. I am self taught by reading books, searching online for resources, and asking questions in these very Forums. ;)
ugh isnt there more money in EE?
Its the same issue, experience. If you dont have it then you dont get decent $$$. My decision was more of a realization that since I was programming for fun for many years before I finished my BS degree, why not go into that as a career. For some reason I didnt think I could make a living at it. I like EE and Programming equally and I still like to do some Digital design every now and then. I have a AS in Robotics and a BS in Electrical Engineering. I wish I would have also did a second major in Computer Science too. :(
knowing a DB engine, and a report engine, is also good thing!!Quote:

Oh ya, your right. To start out with VB 6 is finne but throughout your learning you will neeed to do more involved applications that will require other technologies, like mentioned, Databases, Reporting, etc. It takes time to broaden your knowledge of programming. So dont worry you will get there, just dont give up. ;)
Oh, I'm not planning to give up. I know It's going to be a challenge. I'll accomplish it though.
