VB.NET for UIQ (Symbian in general)?

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a way to make VB applications for my p910 mobile (running Symbian) and from what I had found it seems that I have 2 choices. Either a chaotic strange beta environment (OPL), or a $ 1000 SDK from AppForge which also requires a $20 (correction, 25) client on every phone that wants to run such application.

Is there really no third alternative for using VB on mobiles or am I missing something?

I'd appreciate any reply, I am reall lost getting redirected all the time from symbain.com to appforge.com and back. Nobody seems to know there if it is called Crossfire Client or appbooster or both or none.
